Statement on Proposed NDA Work Hub at the Former Library
Millom Town Council welcome the news of further funding being made available for this iconic building. This will truly be an asset for Millom and secure its use for years to come.
The proposed investment by NDA in transforming the former library building into a dedicated work hub represents a highly positive and forward-looking development for Millom. This initiative strongly complements the wider ambitions of the Town Deal regeneration programme, contributing to a coordinated and impactful approach to the town’s renewal.
Repurposing the building as a modern workspace for employees will bring renewed activity into the town centre, supporting increased footfall and strengthening the local economy. By introducing a professional working environment, the project will help attract and retain skilled workers in the area, while also creating opportunities for local businesses to benefit from increased demand for services.
This development aligns closely with the Town Deal’s objectives of economic growth, improved infrastructure, and community resilience. It enhances the overall regeneration effort by ensuring that key assets are not only preserved but adapted to meet current and future needs.
The NDA’s investment demonstrates clear confidence in Millom’s potential and plays an important complementary role alongside Town Deal projects. Together, these initiatives will help create a more vibrant, sustainable, and economically active town centre, delivering long-term benefits for the community.
