Mayor’s civic duties this month
- Together with Deputy Mayor Councillor Kellett, I attended an event at which Phoenix Singers were presented with a prize: a Christmas Carol composed specifically for the choir by Tim Wright.
- Visited Millom Detachment with Deputy Mayor Councillor Kellett to present on Millom Town Council’s work and explain the purpose of the mayor’s chain. The cadets were engaged and asked relevant questions. Good interaction with the youth.
- Meeting with appropriate groups looking at the up-and-coming remembrance service.
- Economic Plan – 4 Councillors present. 1 Apology. Cannot make progress if people do not turn up.
- Meeting with the Heritage Museum.
- Attended a PPG training afternoon. Looking how to deal with pain and less on opioids.
- Together with Deputy Mayor Councillor Kellett, I attended a luncheon celebrating Kendal twinning with Riteln Germany. May be something we could look to in the future. This would certainly provide a much-needed cultural exchange.
- Deputy Mayor Councillor Kellett and I attended the Rugby League Presentation evening. Thank you to the club for a well-organised event celebrating its achievements and introducing five new international players.
- Teams meeting with Michael Barry Millom and Haverigg Strategic Future Planning.
- Together with Deputy Mayor Councillor Kellett, I attended the Trafalgar Dinner event organised by the Royal Navy Association.
- Remembrance Meeting.
- Resilience Meeting.
