Statement from Millom Town Council
Millom Town Council would like to confirm that we are currently in the process of seeking funding for the development of a pump track in the Millom Park area. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe, engaging, and inclusive recreational spaces for our community.
However, due to the continued and concerning incidents of vandalism in Millom Park, the Council are now reconsidering the proposed location and overall approach to this project.
As a result of this mindless vandalism Millom Town Council are now having to invest in brand new CCTV and upgrade the existing system which will give a more extensive coverage of the whole area and identify more easily the perpetrators.
We are actively exploring alternative options to ensure that any future investment is both sustainable and protected, and that it serves the long-term interests of our residents.
We remain committed to enhancing local amenities and will continue to work closely with community groups, stakeholders, police authority and funding bodies to find the best path forward.
Millom Town Council would again ask that all parents talk to their children and ask that they respect the hard work and monies spent in these areas.
