Mayor’s Civic Duties

This month’s Mayor’s Civic duties have included the following:

  1. 31.07.2025 – Meeting with Andrew Rigg regarding sports equipment for around the running track.
  2. 04.08.2025 – Meeting with Rugby Union regarding planning permission.
  3. 05.08.2025 – Handing out the cheques to the Heritage Centre and First Responders from the Mayor’s appeal.
  4. 11.08.2025 – Visit to the Salvation Army building and Extra Ordinary Meeting.
  5. 14.08.2025 – Council Workshop with NWS.
  6. 16.08.2025 – VJ/VE Day Memorial Service attended.
  7. 21.08.2025 – “Whamos” meeting to discuss the new website format.
  8. 27.08.2025 – Meeting with Rachel Street to discuss Civic Sunday format.
  9. 31.08.2025 – Attended with the Deputy Mayor Cllr Kellett the unveiling of the memorial stone at Haverigg Prison, dedicated to the RAF base during 1940/1950.
  10. 05.09.2025 – Police called to the park after closing time. Youths reluctant to leave. CCTV reviewed.
  11. 08.09.2025 – Attended Lord Lieutenant Teams meeting regarding new strategies.
  12. 11.09.2025 – Attended Millom School Presentation Evening.
  13. 12.09.2025 – Attended with the Deputy Mayor Mr Arthur Ferguson’s funeral.
  14. 13.09.2025 – Millom Civic Sunday.
  15. 17.09.2025 – Attended Safe Falls sessions at the Baptist Church. 10-week sessions at £3 per session.
  16. 21.09.2025 – Attended with the Deputy Mayor Workington Civic Sunday.
  17. 23.09.2025 – PPG Meeting with Michelle Scrogham MP. Questions raised around Health Services in and around Millom.

Town Deal Update

Town Deal Meetings this month: 7 meetings.
Attended Broughton Show pop-up.

Cumberland Council

  • Publish a monthly maintenance schedule for gully clearing and ensure transparency in operations.

Millom Town Council
