UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) 2025–2026: Grants and Business Support
Shop Front Improvement Grants
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for landlords and businesses in Cumberland as part of a new Shop Front Improvement Grants scheme funded through UKSPF.
This grant provides financial support for improving the frontages of commercial properties in Cumberland’s main towns and Carlisle. Grants are offered at 50% of the total cost (maximum £5,000).

- Carlisle
- Cleator Moor
- Cockermouth
- Dalston
- Egremont
- Keswick
- Longtown
- Maryport
- Millom
- Silloth
- Whitehaven
- Wigton
- Workington
This is a discretionary fund for businesses that can demonstrate a contribution to high street vitality. Funds are limited.

Local Business Grants and Support
In partnership with the Cumbria Business Growth Hub, further support is available to small/micro and medium-sized businesses through UKSPF funding.
Capital grants available for:
- Productivity-enhancing equipment or improvements
- Works to upgrade business premises
- Enhancement of tourism heritage assets
- Farm diversification projects
Vouchers are also available to secure the services of specialist consultants. One-to-one adviser support and a programme of workshops are part of the offer.
