Get Involved

Throughout the six-week consultation, there will be a series of in-person events, online webinars, and drop-in sessions across Cumbria.

Please note: Feedback shared at drop-in sessions is informal and will not form part of the official consultation response. All formal responses must be submitted via the online survey.

What the Consultation Includes

The consultation focuses on two core documents:

  1. Statement of Biodiversity Priorities – A set of written objectives for nature recovery
  2. Local Habitat Map – A visual tool showing locations for potential habitat enhancement

You are not expected to complete every section of the survey—please focus on those that interest you most.

Strategy Overview

The LNRS is structured into eight habitat and species-themed chapters:

  • Overarching
  • Woodlands, trees, and scrub
  • Moorland, heathland, and montane
  • Grasslands and limestone pavement
  • Wetland and freshwater
  • Coastal and estuarine
  • Built environment
  • Species recovery

Each chapter identifies threats, opportunities for recovery, long-term visions, and 3–10 year priorities along with potential actions.

Interactive Local Habitat Map

This tool highlights potential measures for habitat restoration or creation, mapped in locations where they are expected to have the greatest benefit.
