The Mayor confirmed that this year’s Mayor’s fundraising appeal will be to improve Millom Park Play Area and that current Millom TC projects include the update of the play equipment, Pavilion refurbishment, BMX Pump Track and CCTV. The Mayor asked that Councillors and members of the public follow correct meeting protocol – to stand when the Mayor enters and when addressing the Council. The public will have 15 minutes to address the Council, who will then offer a response at a later date if required. The public can only speak during the 15 minute section on the Agenda.

CBC Cllr GMcGrath said that new CBC councillors have been going through an induction period and that the reduction in the number of Councillors means a significant increase in workload.

Minutes from a meeting held 24th April noted. It was said that the next meeting is to be arranged for the third week in June.
A meeting with 2 candidates has been arranged for 13th June
It was PROPOSED and AGREED that the Fitness equipment within Millom Park be removed due to its deterioration of condition. Resolved.
It was PROPOSED and AGREED that the Accounting Statement be signed. Resolved
It was said that Millom TC can co-opt within 35 days of an election. The vacant seats have been advertised and the deadline for applications is 7th June.
“Meet Your Councillors” has been confirmed as Saturday 29th June in Millom Library
RPatt asked if it would be a good idea as a Council to look at what we could do regarding climate change and environmental issues and to consider putting a strategy/report together to get ideas down on paper, for example reducing use of chemicals and plastic waste, energy saving lighting. It was PROPOSED and AGREED that the item be placed on the Agenda each month.
Denise Burness gave an overview of where the Town Plan is at the moment and it was PROPOSED and AGREED that the item be placed on the A&R agenda for progression. Resolved.
No updates. AD confirmed she has been invited to attend the next swimming pool committee meeting.
BC took a break from meeting, leaving the room.
No update received since last meeting.
An email was received to the office from Cumbria Police and read out. A funding decision is due to be made by the end of May. ACTION: Clerk to get update.
It was PROPOSED and AGREED that MTC support Copeland CAB (Millom Office) with the same figure as last year (£200) Resolved.

RESOLVED that the accounts presented be passed for payment, cheques signed by Cllr J Brown and Cllr Kelly AGREED
Climate Change. It was noted that the Electric box near Redhills recycling centre has been reported as unsafe to the Health and Safety team at Copeland.
