Millom Town Council was formed in 1974 when the parish boundaries changed from Cumberland.

Apply now to improve high streets and town centres in Cumberland

Cumberland Council is committed to supporting our high streets and making them attractive places to visit and shop.

Two new grant schemes are available to support landlords and businesses in Cumberland.

 

  • Facelift grants of up to £5,000 are available to improve the frontages of occupied commercial premises. It can be used for such things as new shop fronts, disabled access improvements, repainting and signage.
  • Empty property grants of up to £35,000 are available to landlords, new businesses, or existing businesses looking to expand and bring vacant properties back into use.

The grants are available for these areas:

Aspatria, Brampton, Carlisle, Cleator Moor, Cockermouth, Dalston, Egremont, Keswick, Longtown, Maryport, Millom, Silloth, Whitehaven, Wigton and Workington.

Grants will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so apply soon!
