The mayor’s announcements were circulated prior to the meeting. No declarations of pecuniary interest were received.

The clerk reported that all office actions from the previous meeting had been completed.

191/21: Approval of Previous Minutes

The minutes of the meeting held on 24th November 2021 were approved and signed as a true record.

192/21: Finance Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held on 23rd November 2021 were noted.

193/21: Extraordinary Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the extraordinary meeting held on 12th January 2022 were approved.

No updates received.

196/21: Copeland Borough Council

Nothing to report.

197/21: Councillor & Clerk Updates

The clerk’s report was circulated within the working papers.

198/21: Great British Spring Clean

The council agreed to participate in March, subject to volunteers. Clerk to arrange date and posters.

199/21: Copeland Local Plan

Meeting scheduled for 3rd February 2022 with Copeland Borough Council. Clerk to arrange a pre‑meeting for councillors to prepare questions.

200/21: Committees & Working Parties

Review of current committees agreed. A meeting to be arranged by Clr Brace with Clrs Peter, Kelly, Pattinson, Brace, and McGrath.

201/21: Policies & Procedures

  • Child Protection Policy — amendments required
  • Health & Safety Policy — approved and signed
  • Vexatious Complaints Policy — amendments required
  • Risk Register & Assessment — approved and signed
  • Appraisal Policy — amendments required

202/21: Towns Fund Bid Update

Clr Brace attended the Town Board meeting and provided updates on the Iron Line, Heritage Buildings, Community Health, and connectivity projects. Council requested a Town Board presentation.

203/21: Environment Party Committee

No meeting held. Trees for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee are expected to be planted mid‑March.

204/21: Office Lease

Clr McGrath to assist the clerk in finalising lease arrangements.

205/21: Millom Heritage Triangle

Presentation and walkabout to be arranged for councillors.

206/21: Town Plan

No updates available.

207/21: Meeting Updates

  • Clerk/RFO Employment Working Party: Agreed to increase hours and close the front desk at 12 PM daily.
  • HMP Working Parties: Positive future collaboration planned.
  • Lengthsman Scheme: Meeting on 20th January was productive; further discussion pending.

208/21: GDF Partnership

Working group formed: Clrs Billing, Peter, Faulkner, Kelly, and Brace.

209/21: Haverigg Issues

  • Memorial Benches: Clerk preparing seating policy.
  • White Rock Signage: CBC confirmed installation pending.

HMP invited to assist with sensory garden replanting.

Mr Tim Lees was co‑opted as councillor for Holborn Hill Ward.
