Job Vacancy – South Copeland Development Officer

We are currently recruiting for a South Copeland Development Officer

Overview of job purpose
To identify, map, liaise with and support local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups across South Copeland, with the aim to improve people, place and partnerships. Support will need to be provided locally and be tailored to the needs of the groups and organisations in areas including governance, business planning, funding and volunteering.

Key details
Salary: £22,793 – £27,784 pro rata
Hours: Part-Time – 22.5 hours per week

Base: Millom – flexible working, in terms of both location and hours of work – There may be occasions when office working will be required at our office base in Cleator Moor

Closing date: Friday 3rd March 2023
Interviews: 13th/14th March 2023

  • Increasing the capacity, cohesiveness, and funding abilities of VCFSE organisations in South Copeland
  • Increasing the skills and confidence of people working within the VCFSE across South Copeland
  • Enhancing the governance of local VCFSE organisations across South Copeland towards the improvement of local community facilities, the continued delivery of local services and the development of new services.
  • Increasing collaboration, partnership working and joint delivery of services across South Copeland towards the creation of healthier, more inclusive communities and a greater sense of place.
  • Building resilience, capabilities, and long-term financial sustainability of VCFSE organisations in South CopelandExperience and Skills
    We are looking for an individual with knowledge and/or experience of working with voluntary and community groups, providing advice, support and guidance. They need to have good organisational skills, be able to communicate effectively and support and maintain good relationships and partnerships.
