Millom Town Council – A595 Update

Millom Town Council would like to inform the community regarding Thursday’s chaos on the A595. This section of road does not come within the Cumberland jurisdiction but belongs to Westmorland and Furness Authority.

Millom Town Council did everything it possibly could to help get information out to the public regarding this closure. The information that was given to us was for a 09:30am – 1:00pm road closure (hence the social media post). Unbeknown to us, there were no further updates from Westmorland and Furness Highways as to the change in times.

A letter expressing our concern was sent to MP Michelle Scrogham and the relevant Westmorland and Furness Authorities.

If anyone wishes to make complaints, you will need to log on to the Westmorland and Furness Authority website, type “complaints” in the search bar and it will then take you to the correct area to make your complaint.
