Millom Town Council was formed in 1974 when the parish boundaries changed from Cumberland.

The extraordinary meeting was called due to the timing of the need to submit the precept for the years 2023/24.
Apologies were received from Cllr E Ormesher due to work commitments.
There were no items requiring the exclusion of the press or public.
All councillors declared an interest in the Town Council finances.
No members of the public were in attendance.
Following a short discussion led by the Chair of the Finance Committee (Cllr McGrath),
the council agreed to submit a precept figure of £161,424.00 for the financial year 2023/24.
This was proposed by Cllr R Peter, seconded by Cllr T Lees, and unanimously agreed.
Cllr McGrath (Chair of the Finance Committee) signed the necessary documentation.
Action: RFO (Gillian Hoyle) to submit figures to CBC.
Following the resignation of the previous RFO, it was agreed that the new RFO be added
to all business accounts to enable full access and management.
This was proposed by Cllr McGrath, seconded by Cllr D Burness, and unanimously agreed.
Action: RFO to ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted to banks and building societies.
Meeting closed at 1:30 PM. The Chair thanked everyone for their attendance.
