Jane Micklethwaite opened the meeting by welcoming new Councillors and wished them all luck for the future. It was PROPOSED (JB) and SECONDED (RK) that Cllr Angela Dixon be nominated for the role of Millom Mayor for 2019/2020. ALL AGREED
Cllr Angela Dixon signed the Declaration of Acceptance, witnessed by the Town Clerk.
It was also said that Millom Town Council needs to look to recruit new members as there are now 6 vacant seats, if they are not filled then Copeland may look to reducing the numbers of members. ACTION: Clerk to confirm Co-Option process with Copeland BC.
It was PROPOSED (AD) and SECONDED (RK) that Cllr Ruth Peter be appointed as Deputy Mayor for 2019/2020 ALL AGREED
All Councillors signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office, witnessed by the Town Clerk.

Mayor’s Announcements: The Mayor welcomed new Councillors Sandra Carter, Richard Pattinson, Barbara Crellin, Tess Fitzwilliam and Tony Dixon and also welcomed back returning Councillors Ruth Peter, Bob Kelly and Janice Brown.
The Mayor spoke on how the Town Council needs to look at co-opting for the vacant seats, concentrate on keeping the town clean with more bins and seating for the community and focus on improving services and promoting our area by working positively together with less talking and more doing.
The Mayor asked that any actions against Councillors be highlighted so they can be easily picked up and would also like to introduce a recording device to assist in the correct record of meetings.
The Mayor also hopes that new Councillors will assist in funding applications as required and work closely with South Copeland Disability group.
None stated. New Declaration of Interest forms were issued to every Councillor and the Clerk asks that they are returned promptly. ACTION: All Cllrs

It was asked that 290/18 be checked so that the Finance minutes are cross referenced with regard to the War memorial ACTION: Clerk

It was said the Clerk emailed Cllr D Wilson for an update, nothing received up to the time of the meeting.
It was said that Clerk emailed all CBC Councillors for Millom prior to the meeting for an update. Cllr F Gleaves confirmed that the Copeland AGM is 21st May.
All points AGREED and document signed. RESOLVED
RESOLVED that the accounts presented be passed for payment, cheques signed by Cllr J Brown and Cllr Kelly AGREED
The Clerk asked that new Councillors confirm if they are able to attend a “Good Councillor” training session on 12th June at Kirksanton Village Hall. ACTION: All Cllrs
