This marks my fourth (historic) consecutive year as Mayor of Millom and Haverigg. As such I would also like to take a moment to remember two former Councillors and Mayors, Jack McPhillips, Ruth Peters and Councillor Stephen Peters, who sadly passed away this year. All served our community with great passion and commitment. It is this kind of dedication that helps a council to move forward.
Every Mayor relies on the support of fellow Councillors, whose work is vital to improving the community. Although I was not born here, I am proud to serve Millom and Haverigg and always strive to get the best for this community. Over the past three years, we have seen real progress in our play areas, parks, and the opportunities for Millom and Haverigg to grow and thrive.
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to see the Millom Town Deal projects through to their conclusion. I truly believe these projects will help Millom and Haverigg develop into areas of health and well-being and provide further opportunities for very much needed investment.
I look forward to working with you and addressing the issues where we can make a real difference.
