Born in Stepps, Glasgow, Scotland
Moved at the age of 12 to Ashford, Kent
Attending school and College there
First job was a junior position for the Town Council in Ashford
Married and had my first child
Moved to the Lake District in 1982
Living and working locally in Haverigg
My Father is from Scotland
My Mother is from Haverigg
Married and had my two other children
Had a Fish and Chip shop in Millom with my husband
I also had my own business in Millom…The Wool Shop
I went to work in the care industry for about 11years
Moving on to work up the Lakes
From there, I went to work at Millom Infants School, where I completed my NVQ for a teaching assistant. I became the Care Taker for 12 years.
I retired from this employment.
Charity Work has always been my passion, and after retiring,g this gave me more time to dedicate to it.
I was the secretary of Millom Royal British Legion for 10 years
I decided to set up a Veterans Breakfast Club once a month, and this is still successfully running and moving into its 13th year
